MASON CITY – A wanted man was caught and arrested as he checked in with his probation officer Friday morning.
Mason City police were called to a probation office in Mohawk Square, 22 North Georgia Avenue, Friday morning at about 9:07 AM. A wanted man, 32-year-old Kevin Lee Jones of Mason City, was arrested by police on a warrant connected to a case in which he pled guilty in May to assault while displaying a deadly weapon. He was charged on September 1 with violating his probation in that case.
Jones is being held in the county jail at this time on bond as he awaits a September 25 probation revocation hearing. He could face all or part of a two-year suspended prison sentence along with a suspended fine.

Officers were dispatched on the report of a subject at the Department of Corrections with a valid arrest warrant. One adult male was arrested and taken to jail.
