LE CLAIRE, IOWA – State criminal investigators have charged the president of an Iowa firefighter’s association with theft.
On June 11, 2015, the Le Claire Police Department requested assistance from the Iowa Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation’s (DCI) Major Crime Unit (MCU) in reference to a string of suspicious financial transactions discovered within a bank account held by the Le Claire Firefighter’s Association.
As a result of this criminal investigation Shawn Ream, the associations former President, was charged with Theft 2nd Degree. Ream was arrested on August 12, 2015, and taken to the Scott County Jail. Ream is being prosecuted by the Scott County Attorney’s Office.
Is there any honest people anymore that are in charge of these types of funds? Seems like they think, Hey im in control of the funds I’ll just spend some here and there and who gives a shit.
