Iowa man wanders onto highway, is struck and killed by motorist

logo-iowa-state-patrolWAVERLY – An Iowa man was killed after car trouble led him to wander onto a highway, where he was run over.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 61-year-old Michael Moore of Vinton, Iowa, had auto troubles Monday evening as he traveled westbound through Benton county on Highway 30. Moore wandered onto the roadway, where he was struck by a 2004 Chevy Malibu driven by 18-year-old Cody Gergom of Belle Plaine, Iowa.

Moore died as a result on the collision. The accident is under investigation.
