MASON CITY – Five persons, including two children, were charged with theft after they were caught stealing at Shopko.
According to Mason City police, on July 7, 2015, at approximately 6:20 PM, a shoplifting incident was reported at ShopKo. Officers responded and after an investigation, five subjects were arrested simultaneously for 5th Degree Theft.
The subjects arrested together were: Christian Lawson (age 18), London Baker (age 27), Carrie Anderson (age 37), Miranda Smith (age 17), and Casandra Smith (age 14). All reside in Buffalo Center, Iowa.
The adults went to jail and the juveniles were released to an adult. The juvenile cases will be referred to Juvenile Court Services.
The vast majority of people who steal in Mason City are not poor, they’re addicts!

Is North Ia this poor that every one has to steal? Its a shame as this has to be right behind the domestics and drug arrests. What has happened to our town??? We need to open a detention center and put these people on a chain gang cleaning our parks and ditches.
By the looks of his neck, I guessing that young Mr. Lawson went to Shopko with the intention of purchasing some ringworm medication.
