MASON CITY – Police responded to a two-car accident Thursday afternoon in Mason City.
According to Mason City police, on June 4 at about 12:48 PM, officers responded to a two-car vehicle collision at 6th Street and South Illinois. One vehicle was on its side.
The vehicles involved were a 1998 Ford Explorer driven by Marlys Peterson of Mason City – which was turned on its side with Peterson trapped inside – and a 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by Lori Goodenough of Mason City.
Police said Peterson was east bound on 6th Street and failed to obey a stop sign and was struck by Goodenough’s vehicle which was traveling north bound on Illinois.
Peterson was charged with failure to obey a stop sign. There was no word on injuries.
