MASON CITY – A Cemetery in Mason City has a busy entrance closed as an upgrade is made.
Elmwood-St. Joseph Municipal Cemetery closed the Monroe Avenue entrance until June 10th while street improvements are being made. The asphalt street at the entrance will be replaced with a concrete street and curbing. Additional improvements will be made after the street replacement that may cause the entrance to be closed for shorter periods of time. A decorative black metal gate and fencing will be installed, replacing the chain closure that is used now. A block retaining wall and landscaping will be installed to further beautify the entrance.
The project is being completed by Kuppinger Concrete of Mason City.
