Wanted Mason City man caught

MASON CITY – A man who fled from a traffic stop earlier last week was caught a few days later by police and is now in jail.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office said that 23-year-old Felix Arp was arrested on warrants on the afternoon of May 1 by Mason City Police near Orchid Avenue and 300th Street.

Arp had been on the run since Tuesday evening, April 28, when he was driving a car as a suspended driver and was pulled over by a Cerro Gordo deputy. His passenger, Mallorie Elaine Wolcott, was arrested for allowing an unauthorized person – Arp – to drive. Arp fled the scene on foot and managed to despite up to 9 law enforcement officers conducting a search. A taser was deployed during the traffic stop, as well.

Arp faces new charges of interference with official acts and driving while suspended. The other charges he faces are from previous alleged crimes involving drug possession and unauthorized use of a credit card.
