WOOLSTOCK, IA – A rural North Iowa man lost control of his new pickup truck, ejecting him and claiming his life.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, on April 26 at about 7 PM, 56-year-old Mark Jacobson of Woolstock was southbound on Franklin Avenue in rural Wright county in his 2015 Ford pickup when he was approaching a left hand curve. As he negotiated the curve, he lost control and left the right side of the roadway. Jacobson proceeded to over-correct back to the right, causing the vehicle to rotate in a clockwise direction. The truck rolled one time and landed on its wheels while still in gear, ejecting Jacobson, as the truck was still idling.
Jacobson died at the scene and was transported to an area funeral home.
