JACKSON COUNTY, IA – An Iowa woman and an infant are dead after a car crash over the weekend in a rural Iowa county.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 20-year-old Ellen Kay Edwards was northbound on 86th Avenue in Jackson county on April 24 in a 1995 Chevy C25. Two-year-old Joseph Paul Edwards was a passenger in the car. The vehicle crested a hill and on the way down, Edwards lost control and slid sideways, making contact with a railing, and landed in a creek upside down.
Both occupants died as a result of the crash. The patrol did not disclose whether the victims were wearing seat belts.
