OSAGE – An Osage woman jailed after funds were allegedly misappropriated from a girl scout troop’s bank account has entered a not-guilty plea, posted bond and has been released from jail.

The Osage Police Department reported that on February 3, they received a complaint of a Girl Scout Troop account missing money by numerous checks being written. An investigation determined that Jennifer H. Nilges, age 38 of Osage, had written the checks for personal items and not for the girl scouts. Approximately $1,500.00 was taken from the account.

On February 7, the Osage Police Department along with the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in Mitchell County. On February 15th, Nilges was arrested on charges of Misappropriation of Funds, a Class D Felony and Ongoing Criminal Conduct, a Class B Felony.

Nilges was being held in the Mitchell County Jail on a $2,500 cash only bond until she posted that amount on March 4 and was released. She has pleaded not guilty. She now awaits an April 15 jury trial, and a pre-conference hearing has been scheduled for March 31.
