MASON CITY – The Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health has recently expanded their offerings of the L.E.A.N. (Lifestyle-Exercise-Attitude-Nutrition) healthy living workshops to include L.E.A.N. Expectations, a series of educational workshops that teach those preparing for pregnancy how to care for themselves and their babies. The program is made up of two separate workshops, each two hours long, that can be taken in sequence or individually. Each class is relevant to moms in all stages of pregnancy, whether they are carrying their first baby or their fifth.
- Prepare RIGHT Now – this class focuses on the lifestyle, exercise and attitude choices vital for a healthy pregnancy and covers what to avoid during pregnancy and what expectant mothers should start doing to prepare their body for a healthy birth.
- Eat RIGHT Now – this class teaches how to incorporate healthy eating into everyday life, not only while pregnant, but also throughout the years ahead. Expectant mothers will learn what foods and nutrients they need to eat more of during pregnancy and provide their baby with all the nutrients needed for safe, complete development.
The Prepare RIGHT Now class is offered on the 2nd Thursdays of the month. The Eat RIGHT Now class is offered on the 3rd Thursdays of the month.
Two sessions per date will be offered: 11:00am-1:00pm and 5:00-7:00pm at the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health – 22 North Georgia Avenue Suite 300 Mason City.
