MASON CITY – A Clear Lake man charged with felony theft was able to reach a plea deal to a lesser charge, but still faces a felony burglary charge
Allen D. Hare, age 45 of Clear Lake, pled guilty on November 12 to a charge of theft in the third degree. He had been charged with felony second degree theft by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office. Hare was sentenced to two years in prison (suspended), placed on two years probation, and ordered to pay $286.00 in court costs.
Hare is still facing charges of third degree burglary and possession of burglar’s tools, brought by Mason City police in July. He’ll face a jury trial on December 16 on those charges.
