CHARLES CITY – Charles City police responded to an odd situation last week and a female subject could be in trouble as a result.

Police reported that on November 19 at about 3:25 PM, officers were called to the area of the Charles City Middle School near Grand Avenue to investigate a female subject who was smashing pumpkins against the middle school building. She was also reported to have been walking down the street hitting herself and throwing yet more pumpkins. It was not revealed where these pumpkins came from or how she was able to carry them.

The subject was located in the 300 block of 5th Avenue and officers questioned her. Police say charges are now pending, and they did not release the name of the person involved.
