MASON CITY – Police were sent to Willowbrook Mall Friday afternoon after a subject allegedly stole merchandise from a store and drove away.
Officers with the Mason City police department arrived at Willowbrook Mall at about 2:36 PM Friday afternoon after a merchant made an emergency call about a theft from a store. The merchant gave a description of the male subject, a description of the car he drove away in (a white Kia Optima) and the license plate. Dispatchers told police the subject lives at the 200 block of 7th Street NE in a rental property.
Mason City police said Saturday afternoon that the investigation is on-going at this time.
