UNI women’s basketball signs four to 2015-16 roster

logo_uni_panthersCEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa women’s basketball program has made four additions to its 2015-16 roster, adding four talented recruits to the future of UNI Panther basketball.

Mariah Criswell, Mikaela Morgan, Heidi Hillyard and Taylor Hagen all signed National Letters of Intent, it was announced today by head coach Tanya Warren.

“We are extremely excited about this class,” Warren said. “We’ve added instant depth to the front and back court and all are proven winners from great high school programs.”

Criswell, a 5’8 guard from Winterset High School, currently has 1,023 career points, 164 steals, 191 rebounds and 198 assists as an integral part of the Husky women’s basketball program. She is a three-time first-team All-Conference and Academic All-Conference honoree for Winterset.

Morgan is a 5’11 guard playing at Iowa City West High School, who’s older brother, Jeremy, is currently a starter for the UNI men’s basketball team. She was named first-team All-Conference, All-District and All-Region as a junior, also earning All-State third-team honors from two different basketball associations.

Hagen is the only signee from out of state, playing at Blooming Prairie High School in in Blooming Prairie, Minn. She is a 6’1 post player, who is a three-time All-Conference selection and is averaging 15.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.

Rounding out UNI’s early signing recruiting class is Hillyard, a 6’0 forward from Mediapolis High School. She earned first-team All-State and first-team All-Conference as a junior, averaging 11 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 3.5 steals per game.
