MASON CITY – In Iowa, it is a felony to strangle your mate during the course of a domestic altercation, and a Mason City man was taken to jail Tuesday, accused of just that.
Nathan Lee Juenger, age 30, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of felony domestic assault that involved strangulation after police were summoned to the area of 1st SW and South Jefferson Avenue to investigate a domestic situation. Juenger is being held in the county jail on no bond until he goes before a judge.
Juenger is no stranger to charges after violent episodes. He was charged with felony going armed with intent in 2003 in Mitchell county. He later pled guilty to assault with intent to cause serious injury. He paid a fine and court costs.
Additionally, Juenger is awaiting a court date after a 2012 arrest by Manly police for drug possession.
