CLEAR LAKE – A Cerro Gordo deputy stopped an unlicensed Mason City driver for poor driving Wednesday morning and took him to jail.
Charles Martin Stoering, age 56, was stopped by the deputy at Interstate 35 and Highway 122 for “driving poorly”. The deputy suspected that Stoering was intoxicated and transported him to the Cerro Gordo County Law Enforcement Complex for field sobriety testing “due to subject being cold”. Stoering was charged with operating while intoxicated and jailed.
Stoering was arrested on October 24 along with a North Dakota woman when police were called to the Graham Manufacturing plant at 1600 12th Street NE for a suspicious vehicle. Stoering and the woman, 45-year-old Patricia Ann Knudson of Fargo, were inside a vehicle and intoxicated. Both pled guilty a few days later and both were ordered to pay $195.00 in fines and fees.

INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY

Philosophus; what in the sam hell does nascar have to do with this?? You are a blundering baboon. Come on get a life Philly.
These are your sons, brothers, dads, countrymen. Here they are. Look at them. They are the result of decades of community inertia and “planning”. A legacy of booze, abuse, meanness, and ornery obstinance…the epitome of North Iowa culture.
And throw in a dash of Harley and Nascar for good measure.
Where I am glad they got this guy off the street for the third time (it will only be temporary anyway) I would like to know what “poor driving” is? If the police are allowed to make up any excuse for stopping someone they are violating their rights and we should all be concerned.
