MASON CITY – A Kossuth county sex offender who was arrested with his girlfriend for stealing from Wal-Mart will appear in court Wednesday for an arraignment.
Stephen Christopher Levandoski, age 31, will face an arraignment on a theft charge on October 28 after he was transported to Cerro Gordo county from Kossuth county, where he was arrested on October 1 for violating the state’s sex offender registry. Levandoski committed his sex offense in Illinois in 2006 against a female child victim. He will be sent back to Kossuth county after the arraignment to face a court date on the registry violation.
Levandoski and his girlfriend, Donna Ciaffarafa, age 20 – were each charged with third degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor, after police were called to the Mason City Wal-Mart on September 21. They were detained by employees who said they had attempted to steal over $500 in merchandise.
Ciaffarafa was appointed a public defender, has pleaded not guilty and awaits a December 16 jury trial.
In August, Ciaffarafa, who has a young daughter, announced via social media her new relationship with Levandoski, saying “he is amazing”. Just a few weeks prior to that proclamation, she lamented “If I broke guys heart as much as they have broke mine they would be dead so to y’all who have broke my heart and y’all know who u r watch.the **ck out. remember revenge is best served cold and its getting chilly up in here. (sic)”
“Finally I know I found a man that will treat me and my daughter with kindness and respect,” she said.
