PHOENIX, AZ – Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff’s detectives have arrested an 18-year-old Buckeye man who they say sexually molested his younger sister from the ages of 9 to 14.
The suspect, Douglas Andrew Cherry, age 18, was arrested and booked into Jail on 11 felony charges related to molestation of a minor, sexual assault, sexual abuse, and sexual conduct with a minor. He is currently being held with no bond.
The crime was reported to the Sheriff’s Office after Cherry made admissions that he was sexually active with his sister to a camp counselor.
In interviews with Sheriff’s detectives, both Cherry and his sister admitted to the sexual encounters and that Cherry coerced his sister into committing the acts. The sister told investigators she felt if she did not agreed to the various sex acts her brother wanted, he would beat her. The encounters were said to have started when Cherry’s sister was in the 3rd grade.
