Iowa law enforcement seeks escaped murderer

SIOUX CITY – The Iowa Parole Board placed a convicted murderer in an Iowa halfway house and he escaped, prompting a man hunt that is now underway.

Bryan Keith McDaniel, age 41, was recently placed in the Sioux City Work Release Facility after being in prison since 1995. He was placed on escape status after failing to return to the facility from furlough. McDaniel was transferred to work release on July 3, 2014. His prison sentence began on July 7, 1995. He is serving a 75 year sentence for second degree murder.

Information as to McDaniel’s whereabouts should be reported to the Sioux City Police Department or Woodbury County Sheriff’s Department, and the public shouldn’t try to apprehend him. He i 5 foot 11 inches tall and about 214 pounds.
