CHARLES CITY – As an apparent act of public safety, police in Charles City asked people with guns on a sidewalk to go indoors.
On Tuesday afternoon, at about 3:28 PM, officers with the Charles City Police Department went to the corner of Lane Street and North Grand Avenue after seeing two people on the sidewalk displaying a firearm. Officers determines that a person was showing the firearm to another person. Police asked the individuals to go inside with the gun to avoid alarming the public.
