DES MOINES – A plastic surgeon who works at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa was fined for operating on the wrong finger of a patient.
Rene F. Recinos, M.D., a 48-year-old Iowa-licensed physician who practices surgery in Mason City, Iowa, entered into a combined Statement of Charges and Settlement Agreement on August 8, 2014. The Board charged Dr. Recinos with inadvertently performing trigger release surgery on a patient’s right ring finger when the patient was scheduled to undergo trigger release surgery on the right long finger, requiring additional surgery. Dr. Recinos recognized the error, informed the patient and subsequently performed the correct procedure. Under the terms of the August 8, 2014, combined Statement of Charges and Settlement Agreement, the Board issued Dr. Recinos a Citation and Warning and ordered him to pay a $2,500 civil penalty and he submitted a written corrective action plan which describes the steps he has taken to avoid such errors in the future.

Is he related to Paula “School Board” Recinos? Maybe he matriculated at Mason City High School.
Back 30 years ago I knew an RN nurse that worked for mercy that actually used a black grease pencil to mark the place for surgery -make a long story short the girls drew a smilely face on the tip of his penis.
Wrong finger -wrong ankle -right nut- left nut what’s the difference as long as you have obammy care?
Bird told me Mulkey and the plastic surgery division parties hard…alcohol, drugs, rock music. He was probably hung over.
I find this hard to believe with all the checks they have before surgery and they even mark on the area to be operated on. He must not have been paying attention to what he was doing. I am willing to bet that cost him and the hospital quite a bit of money.
