NEW HAMPTON – A wanted Charles City woman was arrested last week and taken to jail in a neighboring county.
Aranda Cowell, age 25, had been wanted on an arrest warrant since June 24 when she skipped court in Chickasaw county on charges of forgery and drug possession. The charges were brought by New Hampton police. Charles City police located Cowell in the 800 block if North Iowa Street on July 27 and made the arrest.
Cowell pled guilty on July 28 to aggravated misdemeanor forgery and one count of unlawful possession of a prescription drug. She was given a 6 month suspended jail term on both charges, one year of probation, and ordered to pay $1,919.00 in fines and court fees.
