MASON CITY – A Mason City man accused of felony domestic assault was arrested Saturday morning for violating a protective order.
Mason City police officers were dispatched to 409 8th Street SE for a verbal domestic Saturday at about 2:54 AM . Police arrested 44-year-old Rodney Alvin Bakkum at the scene for violation of a no contact order.
Bakkum plead not guilty on June 11 to felony domestic assault involving strangulation and was out of jail on surety bond. A no-contact order between Bakkum and his alleged victim was imposed by a judge.
Bakkum awaits an August 14 court date as he is held on $2,000 cash-only bond.
