The East Park stone bridge could be torn out and replaced. Is it worth saving? It has its own Facebook page now.
RIP Percy Sledge
What do you think… will this someday be the entrance to a grand ice hockey arena? Word is, even if the state says “no” to $9.8 million in funding for a 5-point city development plan, the mayor and city council will make this deal go through at any cost.
Robin Anderson, her entourage, and several city workers were in downtown Mason City working on sculptures Monday – apparently installing a new one at this location on East State Street near Penn Avenue. All of last year’s sculptures are gone, and there’s been no announcements on if any were sold. Presumably, new ones are on the way for this year.
Looks like some Blackwater guys will be spending the rest of their lives in prison. Weren’t the Bush Gold Rush Days just splendid? Life in Prison and 30 years
Welcome to Klemme, Iowa, April, 2015:
Buildings that the city council in Mason City threatened to demolish at the 1400 block of North Federal Avenue – and gave owner Russ Hardy a deadline of earlier this year – are being repaired, as evidenced in this photo:
112 14th Street Northeast in Mason City to be demolished. It is owned by Lynn Spurbeck and assessed at $30,410.
A garage is moved recently and placed behind a house at the 400 block of East State Street, slowing traffic briefly. The area is undergoing a major transformation at this time with flood homes from the East Park area moving in and Good Shepherd building condos/apartments as older homes are demolished or moved.
What would NIT without Charles City – this town is going to the dogs or should I say drug dealers – such a shame for what was a nice town to live in
Is anyone else watching golf today? These guys dress like idiots!
Glad to see the huge banner ad for Mason City Harley Davidson. Remember the next dinner ride is May 8th. Time to get loud!!!!
Matt, didn’t actually read it, but heard something about it. It was in the Globe. The city council is proposing having people’s vehicles towed for traffic violations? Do you know anything about this?
Plus at jeff foxworthy’s comedy act. Talk about hypocrites
How’s this for talkin out of both sides of your mouth. Won’t allow vendors to have have bolts in there guns at their 9 acres of guns and gear. WTF

Madison School Demolition … thank you to NIT Subscriber and Advertiser Blake Cooper for sending the video.
I am a man of much patience but peter has pushed me over the edge. His words are so idiotic yet when I call him on them and call him an idiot my post is deleted. Matt please cancel my subscription and keep the change.
Here’s a suggestion for changes. Nobody posts comments unless they have paid for a subscription. It’s not fair the paid subscribers are bombarded with nonsense from people who won’t pay the fee.
