Cops arrest “out of control” felon with knife

MASON CITY – Police were able to subdue and arrest a man with a knife last week.

According to reports, Mason City police were called for a welfare check of a man with a knife at the 1000 block of 6th Street SW on February 19th at about 9:11 PM.

Upon arrival, the man was discovered to be uncooperative and Cerro Gordo deputies were called to assist.  Police said the subject, 35-year-old Ted William Cordle, was “out of control armed with a knife.”  Police were able to restrain Cordle and arrest him for interference with official acts.

Cordle, a convicted felon with a long criminal history, was taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail and later released after posting bond.  He faces a March 5th court appearance.
