MASON CITY – The top-ranked NIACC women’s basketball team hosts Marshalltown in an ICCAC contest on Saturday.
Game time is set for 1 p.m. in the NIACC gym.
NIACC (21-2 overall, 10-0 in the ICCAC) topped No. 7 Kirkwood 90-87 on Wednesday in Cedar Rapids. Sophomore Chelsey Jacox led the Lady Trojans with 32 points, which matched her career high.
NIACC, which has won 15 straight regular season ICCAC contests, leads the ICCAC by three games over Kirkwood, Iowa Central and Marshalltown, who are all 7-3 in the league.
Marshalltown (16-6 overall) upset No. 6 Iowa Central 72-70 on Wednesday.
NIACC stopped Marshalltown 99-77 on Jan. 4 in Marshalltown in the first meeting between the two schools.
Jacox, who was the ICCAC player of the week for Jan. 27-Feb. 1, averages 21.7 points per game to lead the Lady Trojans. Freshman Cortni Rush averages 14.6 points per game and sophomore Lateeka Thompson averages 12.7 points per game.
Marshaltown is led by freshman Jasmin Howe, who averages 16.3 points per game.
