Iowa to face Michigan Saturday

logo_iowa_hawkeyesIOWA CITY – The road doesn’t get any easier Saturday for the struggling Iowa men’s basketball team.

After a 20-game home court winning streak, Iowa has now dropped its last two, both close games to Michigan State and Ohio State.  Saturday, the national champion runners-up Michigan Wolverines comes calling, on a hot streak and tied for first in the Big Ten.

Iowa (17-6 overall, 6-4 in Big Ten) is led by Roy Devyn Marble with 16 points per game.  Michigan (17-5 overall, 9-1 in Big Ten) is led by conference player of the year candidate Nick Stauskas with 17.3 points per game.  Iowa is alone in third place, while Michigan is tied with Michigan State for the conference lead.

Iowa has not dropped two straight games this season.  Three of the last four games between Iowa and Michigan at Carver-Hawkeye arena have gone to overtime.

Tipoff is slated for 1:05 PM and the game will be televised on ESPN.
