Three break-ins reported Tuesday at Mason City businesses

MASON CITY – Three Mason City businesses reported break-ins Tuesday.

At Hardee’s restaurant, police said that at 4:30 AM Tuesday, an employee going to work reported a “fresh break in”. Entrance to the building was gained by forced entry.  A source said that a glass door was broken. Police said there was nothing taken, and they have no suspects at this time.

At just before 9 AM Tuesday, police were called to 528 North Monroe Avenue for a reported burglary.  The business at that location, Body Graphix, had been broken into, and several items were taken. The owner of the business, Don Murl, had offered a $500 reward for help catching the intruder. Later Tuesday, Murl reported that the items were returned, but did not say if he knew who had broken in.

At 9:27 AM, police were called to Mysic Lanes, 2571 4th Street SE, on another report of a burglary. According to Mystic Lanes, Tuesday morning “we got broke into and had some building damage. Nothing that can’t be fixed but what hurts the most is this person stole from the High School Bowling team. Enjoy your spoiles (sic), we empty this building every night.”

Change jar that was robbed

Apparently, a donation jar full of change was emptied by the crook(s).

Mystic thanked police and others for help in cleaning up the damage ad getting ready to re-open.

“We need to give a BIG Thank You to Jameson Kruger Construction, Lea Mobile Glass, Cody Navratil and the Mason City Police Dept for all their Help this morning. We are cleaned up, stocked up and ready to roll within just a couple hours of finding out we were broken into.”

Anyone with information on these crime should contact the Mason City Police Department at 641-421-3636.
