Working in the Senate is a team effort. You work with your committee. You work with the legislators from your area and with the Governor. One of the most important teams is the one composed of the senator and their clerk. Peter Schumacher of Ames is my clerk this year. Peter is a graduate of Iowa State University and has earned a master’s in Public Health from the University of Iowa. He will help keep me organized and I’ll keep him busy.
