Del Rio, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Eagle Pass Station apprehended a convicted sex offender on Thursday, the second such arrest by Del Rio Sector agents in as many days.

Agents working linewatch duties in Eagle Pass approximately three miles northwest of the Eagle Pass Port of Entry, Bridge I, apprehended Victor Manuel Moreira-Martinez, 50, an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador. During processing, agents discovered that Moreira-Martinez had been convicted in Norwalk, Calif. for “lewd/lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age” and subsequently deported. Moreira-Martinez also had multiple arrests for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, theft and assault.
