NIT – After a brief stint of unseasonably warm weather, North Iowa was slapped in the face with bitterly-cold temperatures again Sunday.
A warm day was welcomed Saturday, as people were out and about enjoying the day walking, shopping and in many cases doing things that very cold days prevent, like washing a car.
The car washes were extremely busy. FleetFarm had a seven to eight car line wait at each of its bays, while K&R and Wash had lines three to four cars deep.
“It’s good to get all the salt and dirt off,” said one customer.
One accurate weather forecaster said “I wanted to get it done before the cold comes back tomorrow.”
Saturday’s temps were in the low 40’s in the North Iowa area. By Sunday morning, the temp had dipped to zero with wind chills far below that.
