WASHINGTON – A new poll shows which professions Americans believe have the highest ethical standards, with nurses topping the list and lobbyists in the doghouse.
In a poll conducted Dec. 5-8 by Gallup, Americans view nurses, pharmacists, and grade school teachers as having the highest ethical standards. Lobbyists, members of Congress, and car salespeople sit at the bottom of the list.
According to the finding in the poll, in which 1,031 Americans from all 50 states were questioned, only 9% of Americans believe car salesmen have high ethical standards. That number is higher than the 6% that found lobbyists to have “very high” or “high” honesty and ethical standards and a lowly 8% for members of Congress.
In the middle were police officers, with a 54% favorable rating on ethical standards.

We are all human. We all can make a mistake, say or do something stupid without thinking at times.
Anyone in public office in my mind is NOT actually working for the public but themselves. Drop the pay and benefits for elected officials to minimum wage. cause you say your working for the people remember???
Good Points.
