WASHINGTON – President Obama on Saturday discussed the launch of the Health Insurance Marketplace for the Affordable Care Act and a rash of problems and other snafus with the online signup located at healthcare.gov.
“As you may have heard, the site isn’t working the way it’s supposed to yet,” President Obama admitted. “That’s frustrating for all of us who have worked so hard to make sure everyone who needs it gets health care. And it’s especially frustrating for the Americans who’ve been trying to get covered.”
Problems aside, the president re-iterated that demand for low-cost health insurance has been proven by the strong traffic to the website, even as a federal government shutdown had crippled staffing needed to run the site and provide customer service to customers. He said technicians are working around the clock to fix the website.
“The site has been visited more than 20 million times so far,” the President said. “Nearly 700,000 people have applied for coverage already. That proves just how much demand there is for these new quality, affordable health care choices. And that’s why, in the coming weeks, we are going to get it working as smoothly as it’s supposed to. We’ve got people working overtime, 24/7, to boost capacity and address these problems, every single day.”
Mr. Obama said the all Americans – Republicans included – should accept the new health care law and help make it better.
It is “interesting to see Republicans in Congress expressing so much concern that people are having trouble buying health insurance through the new website – especially considering they’ve spent the last few years so obsessed with denying those same people access to health insurance that they just shut down the government and threatened default over it.
“As I’ve said many times before, I’m willing to work with anyone, on any idea, who’s actually willing to make this law perform better. But it’s well past the time for folks to stop rooting for its failure. Because hardworking, middle-class families are rooting for its success.”

He is a liar, always has been. Go ahead and back up your Dictator. Smart people know the truth, and you don’t have to get it from Fox News. Most of the other media networks are starting to turn on him and state that he lied. All you have to do is pull your head out of your ass so you can hear it for yourself. If you can’t do that…it doesn’t surprise me.
Now Obama is blaming people not being able to “keep their insurance if they like it” on bad apple insurers. I’m sure that Blue Cross and Blue Shield and some of the other huge insurance companies are going to just LOVE being called bad apples. I hope they turn on him with a vengeance and quit playing along with him and tell him where to shove it. But maybe even this was all orchestrated before the ACA was passed so those insurers could convert all their policies to ones with higher premium ones with benefits some don’t need. Women who have had hysterectomies should not have to pay for pregnancy coverage and older people should not have to pay for any pediatric coverage. It’s just stupid.
Obama is happy that his new healthcare rollout is a disaster and may have to be modified. Because now he will roll out his single-payer system to replace it, which was his goal all along. Here is a link to him in his own words, which he can’t take back.

@Katie-He always lies and always will. This is by far the worst president we have ever had. I have looked at Obamacare and I can tell you for a fact that it is NOT cheaper in anyway if you make 30K and over. If you make less than that you do get a tax rebate but it doesn’t amount to much unless you are at or below the poverty level. It was a scam of the American people all the way and the liberal sheeple were dumb enough to fall for it.

My husband and I got a letter from Blue Cross saying that our plan doesn’t meet the requirements of the ACA. We had our agent check out the ObamaCare policies for us and they would be way more than the $1,838.50 we will have to pay to keep our non-compliant policy!!! Tell me I’m wrong.

Sorry to say I told you so but… One reader said, I hope what you are saying is not true, don’t know if she is still with this family but the fact is that you can’t keep your plan and your rates are doubled under your new plan on the exchange and the deductibles are much higher as well.

Obama has doubled our debt since he took office. Most of our spending is from the military and entitlements. Why aren’t you screaming about the fact that 1.07 persons are on welfare for every person who works full time in this country? Where is American ingenuity? Why aren’t these idle people coming up with ways to make livings? I know people who can’t find cleaning ladies, people who can’t find someone to run errands for them or take them to the doctor, and people who need handymen. I can think of many ways an honest person could make a living without relying on some other business hiring him.
What President Bush spent on the war is a drop in the bucket compared to what Obama has racked up in debt in the last 5 years! Can you say 9 trillion? He sends out invitations to go in welfare and has monthly quotas for employees to sign up 150 people minimum on food stamps. Good grief. We’re supposed to give people a hand up, not a hand out!

Information coming in is already showing more will lose their existing health care and doctor of choice than will gain from this abortion of a policy. And of course who will suffer and who will gain. I read the fix was in between Obama and the insurance companies before the bill was passed. He reportedly told them his insurance would be so lousy that people would WANT to buy insurance from established companies instead. It sure seems to be playing out that way.

How else do you explain why there was no huge fight by the insurance lobby against the passing of ObamaCare? Remember when Hilary tried to reform health care? She got nowhere when she tried to go up against the big insurance lobby and she has a hell of a lot more on the ball than Obama does. The only way he got them to go along with this mess was because there was going to be something in it for them. Otherwise, he would have run into the same brick wall as Hilary. I didn’t dream this up. This is the word on the street in Washington.
