
MASON CITY – Sunday, September 8th the Friends of Mason City Dog Park will hold a fundraiser for the new Mason City Dog Park.
The second annual Barktoberfest fundraiser will be held from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Harding Elementary School, 1239 N. Rhode Island.
Current funds are being used to help pay for part of the costs of the new fencing. Future funds raised will be used to purchase signage, trees/bushes, waste bag dispensers, water fountains, shade structures, walking paths and parking area.
Later this year, fencing will be installed at the dog park, and plans call for many amenities to be added either late this year or in the spring of 2014. The dog park is located north of the city water works plant on the northwest corner of 13th St. NE & Elm Drive.
Entrance fee for the event is $10 for those 15 and older. Kids 5-14 are $6, and those 4 and under get in free.
A raffle will be held. Tickets will be available at the event. Music, face painting, games, a silent auction and a bake sale will be part of the event, also. Food and beverage will be included as part of the entrance fee.
