AMES, Iowa – June 11, 2013 – Today, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved a Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy (RISE) Immediate Opportunity grant application submitted by the city of Clarion. Up to $127,275 will be made available to assist in the construction of an approximately 395-foot right-turn lane on Iowa 3 located on the west side of town. This project is anticipated to be completed by December 2013.
The improvements are necessary to provide improved access to Hagie Manufacturing Co. and will support the creation of 50 new jobs along with $22 million in associated capital investment. This company is a manufacturer of crop protection and application solutions.
Funding for the grant comes from the city share of the RISE Fund.
Six months to pour 400 feet of concrete?? Must be a government job.
