MASON CITY – The Mason City Police Departments Unit # 18 will again be hosting their annual Triathlon this Saturday June 15th. Early registration that morning will begin at 07:30 or you can register any time prior to the event by going to the city of Mason City’s web site and down loading the registration form.
As in past years it will be a sprint Tri consisting of a 250 meter swim, a 3.1 mile run, and a 10 mile bike ride. There will be awards given out to top finishers by age group. Once again we will also be awarding (2) $500.00 dollar college scholarships one to a male and one to a female who must be attending college this upcoming year or is already enrolled in college. As in the past, several prizes will be given away, and there will be food and music after the race.
The race will begin at 09:00 a.m. and chip timing will once again be used. Race packets may be picked up the morning of the race starting at 07:30.
