
CLEAR LAKE – The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office has reported Friday morning that a vehicle had gone through the ice on Clear Lake Thursday.
According to a report, on Thursday, January 24th at about 9:45 PM, authorities were dispatched to Clear Lake to assist with a vehicle that had gone through the ice on Clear Lake.
Upon arrival at the scene, a 2oo2 Volkswagen Passat was found on the ice on Clear Lake located to the southeast of MacIntosh State Park. The vehicle had broken through the ice and was partially submerged.
Ventura Fire Department went onto the ice and assisted the 17 year-old male occupant out of the vehicle. The driver, from Clear Lake, was the only occupant. The teen was not injured.
The vehicle remains on the ice at this time until it can be removed.
Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Clear Lake Fire Department, Clear Lake Police and the Iowa DNR assisted at the scene.
