Cerro Gordo sheriff’s department continues to secure helicopter crash site (VIDEO)

MASON CITY – The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to secure the helicopter crash scene, Sheriff Kevin Pals said in a press release Thursday afternoon:

Update on the helicopter crash that occurred Wednesday, January 2, 2013 2100 hours northwest of the intersection of Balsam Ave. and 260th St.

The crash site continues to be secured by the Sheriff’s Office. The FAA has been on site since 9 AM. We are still waiting for NTSB to arrive at the scene to conduct their investigation.

  • Gene Grell (53)
  • (Russ) Russell Piehl (48)
  • (Shell) Shelly Lair-Langenbau (44)
