MASON CITY – The North Iowa Youth Center is preparing for its 12th annual New Year’s Eve party, set for Monday, December 31st.

Youth Center Director Regan Banks was busy Thursday afternoon hanging decorations and with the help of several volunteers, the atmosphere for the festivities was getting close to completion.

“We’re going to have a great time here,” Banks said. “Music, food, games, contests, the kids will really enjoy it.”

Troy Levenhagen, also known as Levy the Great, will be on hand at 9:30 PM Monday evening to DJ the party.

“The doors open at 9 PM,” Banks said. “Levy will get it going at 9:30. We have pizza and Christmas candy and there will be a dance contest.”

Topping off the evening will be a toast at midnight as a decorative ball is dropped.

The North Iowa Youth Center is located at 138 5th Street SW.  There is a $10 admission fee to the party. Banks said there are some tickets left, and they can be bought by calling 641-423-1883 or 641-420-6609.
