MASON CITY – Embracing Diversity awards were presented during the September 21st Lunch by Central Park event by the North Iowa Diversity Appreciation Team. The purpose of the awards is to recognize an outstanding commitment in understanding and appreciating diversity in the North Iowa area.
The three award categories are Corporation, Service Organization and Individual.
The 2012 winners are NIACC , Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa, and Steven Faulkner respectively.
Debra Derr accepted the award for NIACC and Diane Murphy accepted the award for the Girl Scouts. Steven Faulkner, of the Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services in Mason City, received the individual award.
