ROCK FALLS – Rock Falls Fun Days is the biggest annual event celebrated in the small town just a few miles northeast of Mason City.
The event is held on the third weekend in August to help raise money for the Rock Falls Community Center, which at one time was a school.
Festivities this year included a Run, Walk and Wine 2012, a softball tournament, children’s activities, a beanbag tournament, a raffle, food and a free evening dance with Scott Cooper, Nic Cooper and Alex Bergan.
One of the children’s activities was the Tractor Pull put on by Kid Power Pedal Tractor Pulls out of Hanlontown, Iowa. There were many age groups where kids could enter and many determined faces to get that tractor to go as far as it could and take home a trophy. One little girl, Hailey Vega, daughter of Mark and Rhea, was really putting her all into getting those pedals to take her further. See photo at bottom.
“I’m going to get on there and go all the way to the end, is what she told me this morning,” said mom, Rhea. They were proud of her effort.
