ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa — The Lyon County, Iowa, Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 48-year-old male for allegedly forging signatures and cashing checks in the amount of $283,374.76.
Dale Delane Timmerman, Sibley, was arrested on Friday and charged with theft in the first degree and forgery, both felonies.
He is accused of stealing checks from two seperate accounts and then forging signatures on the checks in order to cash them. The alleged thefts and forgeries took place from Jan. 1, 2011, to May 31, 2012.
Timmerman is being held in the Lyon County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
