HUMBOLDT – A fatal accident took the life of a Humboldt man Monday afternoon.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, at 5:30 PM Monday on Highway 3 about 4 miles east of Humboldt, a Dodge Ram being driven westbound by Andrew James Mennenga, 23, of Humboldt, crossed the center line and struck an eastbound semi-truck driven by Rodney Whitecotton, 37, of Peterson, Iowa.
Mennenga, who was wearing his seatbelt, was transported to Humboldt Hospital and later pronounced dead.
The accident is still being investigated by the Iowa State Patrol.
