Domestic dispute call leads to drug charges for Iowa pair

KEOKUK – A call police in Keokuk responded to in connection with a possible domestic dispute has led to the arrest of the couple, after authorities found what they described as an active meth lab inside the pair’s apartment.

Andrew Joseph Stout, 25, was booked into the Lee County jail Tuesday charged with conspiracy to manufacture more than 5 grams of meth, two counts of maintaining a drug house and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Crystal Dawn Hansard, also 25, was taken into custody on charges of maintaining a drug house, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to manufacture more than 5 grams of meth.

She faces 27 years in prison if convicted, while Stout could be sent to the penitentiary for up to 29 years.

Police said officers were sent to the couple’s home at 523 Concert St., No. 2 to investigate a reported domestic dispute.

While there, officers said they discovered a shake-and-bake, or one-pot meth lab operation.
