Scholarships Available for Central Springs Graduating Seniors

The late John R. Adams, a native of Nora Springs, established the Adams Family Foundation in 2006 with the purpose of providing scholarships to local students. Mr. Adams valued the importance of education. He believed that success in life could be greatly enhanced if one could demonstrate strong communication skills and a solid understanding of mathematics.

Beginning with the graduating class of 2012, two categories of scholarships are being made available. The John R. Adams Academic Scholarship and the Adams Family Foundation Scholarship will be offered to graduating seniors from Central Springs High School. Basic eligibility for both scholarships requires applicants attend Central Springs High School and be a resident within the boundaries of the original Nora Springs/Rock Falls school district for both their junior and senior years.

The John R. Adams Academic Scholarship emphasizes academic achievement and outstanding community involvement.  One $10,000 scholarship will be awarded annually.  The award is renewable for up to three additional years.  A 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher is required for applicants and renewal.  Recipients must attend an accredited four-year higher education institution in Iowa.

The Adams Family Foundation Scholarship will be awarded in the amount of up to $4,000.  This scholarship is offered to all graduating students who meet the basic eligibility requirements and is renewable for up to three additional years.

To apply for these scholarships, students must fill out the online application www.niacc.edu/finaid.  Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2012.

For more information on these scholarships, contact the NIACC Foundation at 641-422-4386 or foundation@niacc.edu.
