Deanna Fisher of American Family Insurance in Mason City put on her thinking cap this holiday season to spark interest in her office food drive.

“Anyone who brings in any food items to donate to the local food banks would be able to pick an ‘ornament’ from our tree as a thank you, Fisher said.

The tree offers items such as coffee mugs, measuring spoons, chip clips, water bottles and more.

“We have collected quite an array of food so far that we will be donating just prior to Christmas,” Fisher explained.

“I think it’s great,” said office owner Matt Dodge. “This was all Deanna’s idea. I thought it was a neat idea.”

Anyone who would like to help those less fortunate and give to a worthy cause is encouraged to stop into the American Family Insurance office at 19 1/2 2nd St NE in Mason City to drop off their donations and grab an ornament.
