MASON CITY – Cerro Gordo County deputies arrested 21-year-old Shyla Yvonne Piper shortly before 2pm on Thursday on a warrant issued after law enforcement seen her drive to the Cerro Gordo County Court House the previous day.
Piper had a scheduled appearance for a separate charge of driving while suspended from November. Piper pleaded not guilty to that charge and a trial date has been set for March 21st, 2012 at 9:30am.
After Piper left the courthouse a warrant was applied for by law enforcement. Piper was arrested today on one count of driving while suspended and one count of failure to file SR-22 insurance.
Piper is currently being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $300 cash or surety bond, pending further court proceedings.
