Kuhn, Marinos and Lee win seats on Mason City City Council

MASON CITY – Alex Kuhn won a convincing victory in the at-large city council race in today’s city elections, taking home 3919 votes, or 74.4%. Kuhn, pictured right, said he looks forward to “working hard with fellow council members to enhance our communities’ strengths while correcting our weaknesses.” Max Weaver will be off the city council, losing to former mayor Jean Marinos. John Lee won in the 1st ward, edging Tim Latham.

Results:

4496 voters were pre-registered and voted.

839 absentee ballots were cast.

10 new registrations were completed on voting day.

19,987 registered voters in Mason City.

At-Large:
Kuhn: 74.4% (3919)
Servantez: 18.8% (988)
Barragan: 6.1% (323)

Council 1st Ward
Lee: 53.3% (780)
Latham: 46.4% (679)

Council 3rd Ward:
Marinos: 63.3% (1054)
Weaver: 36.3% (605)

MC Park Board
Binnebose: 65.7% (3573)
Eliason (Write-in):
Nelson (Write-in): 265
