MASON CITY – At approximately 3:30 pm, Friday afternoon, a report of one car rollover in front of 216 S. Vermont was reported to the Mason City Police Department. Emergency personnel were at the scene within minutes.
At the scene a red Ford Escort had rolled over on it’s top and the driver was outside the car. The Paramedics were being careful, getting her ready to transport to Mercy Hospital by ambulance. A neighbor of the driver said, “She was okay, but she’ll be sore. She lives right over there on the 100 block”.
A lady, who lives with the driver said, “She was conscious and out of the car by the time I got to her.”
A witness who lives in front of where the accident occurred informed, “We didn’t see it, but we heard it. The lady lives just down the street in that gray house. I heard that she was changing the radio station and hit the parked Jeep.” There was a yellow Jeep across the road that was dented on the drivers rear bumper. “That Jeep has been parked there for awhile,” the witness said.
Miller Towing was called and was able to get the car turned over and towed.
A Mason City police officer was not able to release the name of the driver at this time.
